Jesus Villegas
Biography
Primarily self-taught, Jesus has been taking pictures for 20 years. To mark this major turning point, he has decided to finally share his work with the public at large. This is his first group showing. He is a great fan of candid shots of random strangers engaged in the intricacies of everyday life. His collection of photos has grown as his camera has guided him to different corners of the world. He recently discovered two favorite subjects: places of worship and puddles. Both offer serenity in an otherwise chaotic environment: one a place to reflect on whatever is on your mind and the other, the opportunity to see the world from a different angle.

Artist's Statement
Upon returning from vacation, tourists often complain if rain interfered with their sight-seeing schedule. I, on the other hand, pray that it will rain at least for part of my journey. Photographing puddles when the rain has stopped and the sun is shining can keep me entertained in the busiest of cities and the smallest village. I find the juxtaposition of debris in a puddle, which vividly reflects a crisp, colorful, image especially interesting.
