Lester Blum
Biography
Drawing upon his artistic vision for design, balance, and color, Lester Blum began exploring photography five years ago. Primarily self taught, his work encompasses a diversity of subjects. He has participated in four annual group shows at the Center in New York, 2007 had two one man exhibits in the Gallery Room at the OW Lounge, and 2008, two of his images will be exhibited in the 2008 Annual Juried Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in New York. Lester continues to refine his photography with new concepts and techniques for capturing his wide range of subjects.

Artist's Statement
Dark and mysterious reminiscent of the Dutch paintings of the 17th Century, these still lifes use focused light to illuminate the diverse objects contained within the frame. By exploring the relationship of light and shadow on the objects, I strive to add a fourth dimension, which is emotion, to all my work.
